LIVE-IN CARE

Live-in Care

As we get older, daily routines that many of us take for granted can become difficult or restrictive. There comes a point when we feel that we can no longer manage on our own, and need to move into a Care Home or other institution.
It can also be difficult for family members to see a loved one struggling and even more difficult if they have the burden of having to make this decision for them.

The thought of leaving the comfort and safety of your own home can be daunting, not to mention the stress that a person feels, at any age, when they have to move to a new house. It can also be a heart-breaking experience if you are moving to smaller accommodation, when you realise you may have to sell some of your furniture, and may not be able to take all of your possessions with you.

However, many people are not aware that there is another option: Live-in Care.
Live-in Care is a service which enables anyone with care needs to remain in the comfort of their own home, with familiar surroundings. You will have the benefit of 24-hour, one-to-one support from your own personal carer, who is there to enable you to live your life to the fullest.

Live-in Care offers a great, cost-effective alternative to a care or nursing home, with many extra benefits. You will have your own personal carer living with you, giving one-on-one support 24/7, which does not happen in a Care Home.
The biggest benefit of Live-in Care is that there isn’t the huge emotional strain of having to leave the comfort and safety of your own home to move to new, unfamiliar surroundings.
The cost of Live-in Care varies, and will be subject to the level of dependency of the client, which will be determined by a Needs Assessment carried out by one of our managers. Generally, the price is comparable to that of moving into a Care Home.

The service can cater for a wide range of conditions including Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Stroke, as well as end-of-life palliative care, and can be available for an individual or couple.
Shipston Care will fully manage your care package to ensure your needs continue to be met.

Whilst most our service users are elderly, people of any age with a physical disability, medical requirement, terminal or
life-limiting illness can benefit from our live-in care service. This can also be arranged on a short-term basis, which can offer  a welcome break for a family member who needs some respite for a week or two.

Many people with care needs often feel isolated and alone. Having someone who has the time to sit and chat, play cards or watch TV with you can be an immense relief and give you a real ‘lift’. Depending on your condition, it may even be possible for your carer to accompany you on holiday, giving you and your family the peace of mind that goes with having your personal carer at your side.

A carer is there to offer your real quality of life and enable you to live your life to the fullest.
The importance is that you have the option to continue living in your own home with independence and
dignity for as  long as possible.
